Why Jasper county?

I don't know. That is a good question.

Because, while the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri is headquartered in KC, the 341 meetings are held at the district level, which for Lamar is in Jasper County. The specific location within the district is simply a product of where the court can find room. For years it was in the federal building downtown then when the feds sold the building the meeting moved to the Jasper County courthouse in Carthage then when Jasper County hired their Family Law Commissioner they need the extra courtroom and the 341 meetings got kicked out to the annex building.
