Rudy Giuliani campaign has been peppered with references to his experiences as mayor of New York after 9-11 and he again noted that experience during a section of tonight's debate in which the candidates talked about their experiences.
"I am the only one here who has had to face an Islamic terrorist attack," Giuliani said.
Though Romney said appearance as an executive is more important to a president than serving in the Senate, Mike Huckabee said he did not necessarily agree with that. While Huckabee was extolling his own virtues as a leader, the Fox News Channel camera showed a wide shot of Huckabee and Romney, with Romney smirking as Huckabee was making his comments.
Fred Thompson noted his work as floor manager on the Homeland Security Bill, then took his first shot at Romney, who earlier had thrown in a gratuitous reference to the Clintons supporting John McCain's immigration proposals.
Thompson asked Romney, "Didn't Ted Kennedy endorse your health plan (in Massachusetts)?"
"Yes, he did," Romney answered.

It's all right to have your favorites but my impressions were totally different.
I saw Mitt Romney's open admission that he had Ted Kennedy's backing as a sign of his ability to work across the aisle to get a program in Massachusetts backed by a liberal democrat Senator as well as a conservative Republican governor.
After 7 years of having a President who has: BUSTED the federal budget; openly lied repeatedly on matters of substance to the people; started a war against a nation that did not attck us; spent over $1 trillion to fight that war; taken no effective steps to secure our ports; taken no effective steps to set our nation on the road to greater energy independence; done nothing but flap his lips about immigration; hide behind the Patriot Act to abuse prisoners, listen on private conversations and condone, to a great degree, torture . . . . . after all this and more, we do not need another divider.
The only Republicans I saw who can heal our nation are Huckabee, Romney and Ron Paul -- a truly enlightened man without a chance of winning the election, rather like Ralph Nader.
Giuliani, like Bush, is rotten to the core.
I wanna see that picture of Romney smirking while Huckabee talks! Romney seems so arrogant and false.
