Globe photographer brings home the bacon

The Joplin Globe's ace photographer T. Rob Brown has done it again.
For the fourth time during his tenure at the Globe, Brown has won the Associated Press Missouri Photo of the Month award. This makes the fifth time overall Brown had captured top state honors since he also won the award in Arkansas, when he working for the Benton County Daily Record.

Brown's latest award came for a photo he took of a house fire on Ninth Street during the recent ice storm.

Brown is a Missouri Southern State University alumnus and has also worked locally for The Carthage Press.

Take a look at some of Brown's best work on the photography page of his website.

Great headline Randy!

T. Rob has erased any doubt now that he is far superior to John Hacker as the top newspaper photographer in the area. Hacker gets all the hype, but T. Rob brings home the hardware. I can't even think of a major photo award that Hacker has won.

Hooray for T. Rob! He gets my vote too as the best photographer around. Not to take anything away from Hacker, but I prefer substance to sizzle any day.

John Hacker is a good photographer as well, but for some reason seems to fare poorly in photo competitions.

It's a shame that the Joplin Globe doesn't provide more recognition for T. Rob Brown. They barely even acknowledged his latest award. They really take him for granted. He would do anything for the Globe.

Thanks again, Randy, and keep up the good work. Other than checking the obits and front page, the Globe is worthless to me. I read your blog for the real news now, however, in a way, that's very sad.
