Those pesky political experts said Mitt Romney was closing the gap with John McCain following his performances in Saturday and Sunday's debates. Apparently, no one told the voters that.
McCain won going away, proving that New Hampshire voters don't appreciate fine whine, even when its chief purveyor, Mitt Romney, is pouring millions into television advertising.
McCain is as still as rough around the edges and as volatile as he has ever been, but some voters appear to be coming to the realization that even if they do not agree with him on all of the issues, he is a man they can trust.
For all I know, Romney is sincere as they come, but for some reason he has not been able to get that message across to the voters in New Hampshire and Iowa.
