News Leader: Collins mayor resigns after being caught in internet sex sting

Collins Mayor Allen Kauffman, arrested by the Diamond Police Department after allegedly arranging a sexual romp with Detective Jim Murray, who was posing as a teenage girl, has resigned, according to an article in the Springfield News-Leader:

Collins village board chairman Allen Kauffman submitted a “very brief, to-the-point,” letter of resignation Tuesday in the aftermath of his arrest on child enticement charges, Village Clerk Pam Myers said.

“Nobody asked for it, but he offered it,” Myers said.

Kauffman, 62, is also a minister.

So far I have seen nothing to indicate he has resigned from the Ministry. Looks like if nothing more they would kick him out!

I predict that another Missouri department will file charges next week (Jan 21-25).
