In an earlier post, I incorrectly stated that the price for the Joplin Globe would go up to $1 on weekdays and $2 on Sundays.
As it turns out, the price was already $2 on Sundays.
So as of the beginning of September, the Globe Sunday edition began costing a hefty $2.25.
And to be fair to Editor Carol Stark and everyone else at the Globe, they have done a wonderful job of making sure that people do not have to spend as much time reading the newspaper.

Where I live they can't give it away they throw there freebies and they lay there till they mow there yard
The glob has sucked donkey since Simpson-Chicago ran it......into the ground
I dropped my subscription the last time they jumped their subscription price up nearly 20%. Our neighborhood also is littered constantly with their throw away papers. No one wants them! One thing I objected to was the full page advertisement for the want ad section. The want ad section was the next page. Why should I have to pay higher prices for a filler page. Their national/world news coverage is generally 2-5 days behind the rest of the world. Local news is not covered at all except to promote propaganda supported by local big shots. Last but certainly not least are the narrow minded editorial columnists and letter writers. The Joplin Globe would be barely worth it at half the current price. The city of Joplin should also go after them for littering. If they choose to advertise in that way, they should be required to pick up old papers still left on the street after two days.
Where is the coverage of local shootings? What a waste of paper.
