Master developer's ex-wife- You're not getting out of alimony, David

As you might expect, former Joplin master developer David Wallace's ex-wife opposes his efforts to reduce or eliminate his alimony payments.

In documents filed today in Fort Bend County, Texas District Court, Kathy Wingo demanded proof that Wallace needed the change in spousal maintenance and filed a counter petition, noting that the alimony was not court-ordered, but was a "contractual obligation" reached between Wallace and Wingo.

Wallace's divorce had only been finalized for four months when he filed his motion January 14, claiming he could not afford the payments and he had been turned down in his effort to get a loan.

In the motion, Wallace's attorney wrote, "The petitioner lacks the ability to provide spousal maintenance in the amount ordered. lacked property that could be sold, mortgaged or otherwise pledged to raise the funds needed, attempted unsuccessfully to borrow the needed funds and knew of no source from which the money could have been borrowed or otherwise legally obtained."

David Gordon Wallace and his wife Kathryn Lynn Wallace (now Wingo as she returned to her maiden name had been married for 30 years when David Wallace filed for divorce February 8, 2012, less than two months before the Joplin City Council awarded Wallace-Bajjali a contract as the city's master developer on a resolution that passed with Councilman Ben Rosenberg abstaining.

In the petition, Wallace said the marriage was "insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities." The couple did not have children.

The next year was filled with motions for restraining orders having to do with money and property. On July 26, 2013, Kathryn Wallace filed a counter-petition in which she said Wallace was "guilty of adultery" and "cruel treatment of a nature that makes further living together insupportable."

Could Anson cosign a loan so David Wallace can borrow the money to pay his obligations?

Greener pastures and future schemes should guarantee Anson won't have to make good on Wallace's loan. Airite???

Yet Wallace recently bought a new house, built a new pool, purchased a new car and is on a trip over seas. What a guy!

It makes one wonder when a high priced lawyer is arguing how destitute his client is.....

Is he working pro bono?

The pool cost $88,000. What a guy.

Fort Bend County records and then Houston Association of Realtors..... And of course, talk to people who know him. Fort Bend County posts everything. From mortgage information, loans, defaulted loans, to criminal and civil cases. Good luck!
