R-8 Board candidate Melinda Campbell schedules campaign event

A meet the candidate session has been scheduled for Joplin R-8 Board of Education candidate Melinda Campbell, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 15, at 2908 N. Iowa.

From her campaign Facebook page:

Come by on Sunday afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00 and help get my campaign kicked off. Very casual, come and go. Come by and let me share my vision for the Joplin Schools with you.
Campbell, Nancy Good, and Jennifer Martucci are running for the one-year seat on the board left open when Dawn Sticklen resigned after enrolling her daughter at Webb City High School. The seat is being filled until April by Shawn McGrew.

When Fort ran, she went out and talked to the people. She did not say come hither and partake of my bountiful wisdom....

We have seen enough if this mindset already.

Mrs. Campbell is a wonderful person and is an asset to everyone she comes in contact with. Some of those assets are: she is intelligent, well informed, organized, helpful, kind, caring, honest and she understands our current situation with the school board. She has two current students, one of whom is on the student council. She is a devoted wife and mother. I am able to say I have known her since we were children. I think opening her home to all voters is a great idea. She is welcoming all voters to come and see what a great family she has and to discuss important topics. I find her approach much more sincere! Best of luck to Melinda on a successful campaign!!

I can't attest to Ms. Campbell's moral character as I have never met her. However, her blurb reads clumsily, so I'm not convinced of her superior intellect. If that didn't make me question her, the fact that CJ Huff convinced her to run, and that she is a fan of his, is more than enough to make me go to Martucci. She and Good are both CJ candidates. I think we've seen enough of the damage that infatuated blind sheep can do, or allow. Time for a change, and Campbell won't bring it.

It will be hard to beat Nancy, she has more connections in town than all the other candidates combined.

Dusty if you vote for Nancy Good you are no better than they are and that makes you part of the problem. If I'm misreading your post, I apologize.

I was only pointing out that she has a very large war chest.

My son has gone to school with her children since Kindergarten. She is notorious for gossiping about any and everyone as she thinks she is better then everyone around her. If she is elected , which i personally don't think will happen, it would be a huge mistake. She lacks the skills and experience for this position.
