Brandon Eggleston named Joplin High School principal

(From Joplin Schools)

Joplin Schools announced today that Dr. Brandon Eggleston has been named Joplin High School’s new principal. He will begin the position August 1.

Dr. Eggleston has served as principal for North Middle School in Joplin since 2011 and was assistant principal at North from 2008-2011. He began his education career at Joplin Schools as a teacher at North. He has served the district for 17 years. He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Missouri Southern State University, Joplin. He earned a master’s degree in education administration from William Woods University; a specialist degree in educational leadership from Missouri State University, Springfield; and a doctorate degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri.

“As the only public high school in Joplin, Joplin High School is the flagship school for our district and our community,” said Joplin Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Norm Ridder. “Choosing the right leader to guide our JHS staff and students is critical not only for the success of our high school but also for the success of our district. Dr. Eggleston is the right fit for this important role. His experience in the classroom and as a building administrator and his leadership in developing and supporting a positive student and achievement focused culture at North Middle School will help ensure a continued focus on improvement and excellence at Joplin High School.”

(Note: Though it is not mentioned in the news release, Eggleston replaces Dr. Kerry Sachetta, who was recently named assistant superintendent.)

For everyone who had to deal with this Huff clone at NMS, now you get the gift of four more years at JHS.

Yes, this is the same bible in one hand-axe in the other genius that thinks separation of church and state doesn't apply to him.

Maybe he can bring the lawsuit magnet Huffism to the High School level.

This truly sucks. Ridder is not the great hope we thought he would be. This district is still rife with remnants of the failed past.

LOL, you make me laugh... in the time he spent at NMS only two teachers where not offered contracts. So I don't know where you get the axe from. If he is a clone of anyone it would be Barbara Cow. I have work with him through out his time at NMS and can only complain about two things. He sometimes let a couple experienced teachers get away with a few things because they had been there longer and two he never was in his office. He was always out observing or talking to students at lunch. High School get ready for a hands on approach. I remember after the tornado he was at NMS 24/7 sleeping on an air mattress in his office until all students and staff were located.

You clearly don't know him. If you don't have anything nice to say, go over to Facebook with the rest of the trolls.

He's a great hire for the position, and while I feel bad for the parents at nms who will miss him, jhs will be in good hands. Nice job to the super and the school board on making a great choice.

Funny how someone calls someone names while making a point anout saying nice things.

Syntax would suggest you are not an educator. Which leads one to wonder as to the source of your information.

I have heard from several parents of students that go or have gone to North Jr. high that he is an excellent principle. I have been in and out of North and see a very clean and well run school.
Now for my one complaint. The Egglestons I believe live in Joplin, he has worked in Joplin for several years seems to be committed to Joplin school But he chooses to send his children to Webb City . As a Joplinite this does not set that well with me. Our Joplin schools good enough for a paycheck but not good enough to send your kids to? I understand I think his wife works as a teacher at Webb City but I would think his job would super seed that plus the fact he actually lives in Joplin. When I moved here several years ago people actually told me to get in the job and school district or Parkwood anyway. One of the very things are school district lacks is pride and this is a perfect example of lack of it. Anyway I will support Dr Eggleston I hope he brings some much needed discipline into our school and do something about the cell phone problem. But I will always have issues with choosing to send his kid out of district to another school.

It's actually a pretty wise decision for a principal to send his or her kids elsewhere. Having your own kids in your school can make them a target for manipulation or favoritism, and can cloud the principal's objectivity when it comes to academics, athletics, and discipline.

Huff sent his kid to North.

Those who fall for the pretty smile, awe shucks nice guy routine claim "to know" him, while those who have seen behind the curtain are discredited as disingenuous. He has a select group whom he schmoozes. These fiercely loyal followers defend him, or his nice guy image, in every venue. They cannot be convinced of his true nature. Sound familiar? If this guy isn't Sir Huffington II...

Schedule conflicts: Egg was usually at school by 6:30. This is why his kids went to Webb City Schools where his wife works. Sounds like pretty good logic to me he was all ready at school before it was time for his kids to leave. BTW we have a school board member that has a daughter that goes to a private school.

And we had a school board member that didn't. What's your point?
