Ash Grove Republican: Gov. Parson: Keep our Capitol dome free of false gods

(In the latest column from Rep. Mike Moon, R-Ash Grove, prints a copy of a letter he sent to Gov. Mike Parson, followed by some remarks.)

God commanded the Israelites to “have no gods other than Him.” He also said, “Do not ... make metal gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.”

Governor Parson, you and I have placed our trust in the same Lord, the God of the Bible. As such, I appeal to your good judgment, as a follower of Jesus Christ, to direct the Capitol Commission to not return the false god Ceres, the Roman goddess, to the top of the Capitol dome.

According to the Scripture, in reference to our God, “... the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, ... to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.”

We serve a mighty God and we have need for no other god(s).

Realizing that using your authority to keep the Capitol dome free of the display of false gods will result in a firestorm of ridicule, I encourage you to remember Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego (when they risked being thrown into the fiery furnace, they told the king, “our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king”).

If we chose to erect a statue of Jesus on, or in, some state property, there would likely be an outcry from those who disagree with our choice. Those who would oppose the statue of Jesus are the same who would argue in support of placing a false god on our Capitol’s dome. Should we not stand firm in our beliefs as well by refusing to honor a pagan god?

I, and many others, will stand with you as you lead the effort to keep the Capitol dome as it currently is - idol-free.

Mike Moon

The letter above has been delivered to Governor Mike Parson. I'm simply asking him to make the decision to leave a false god off of the Capitol dome.

Will you take the time today to contact Governor Mike Parson's office? Please kindly ask him to not return the statue of the false god to the Capitol dome.

The number to call is: 573-751-3033.

In addition, please pray over the next week that God will impress upon Governor Parson to keep the statue off of the Capitol's dome.

You may also wish to contact Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, AG Eric Schmitt, and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft to request them to contact the Governor, too.

Their contact numbers are:

Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe - 573-751-4727
SOS Jay Ashcroft - 573-751-3033
AG Eric Schmitt - 573-751-3321.

Jeebus!

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?"

Why worry about the false prophets?

Some of those that appear on CBN and TBN and have one or more private jets?

NEVER MIND What thy Rebibluican from Ash Grove has to say!

American Taliban. I am a Christian, but Mr. Moon's behavior, actions, and focus is beyond extreme.

The reason why Ceres is appropriate for the Capitol dome is because NOBODY has worshipped Ceres for over 2000 years. It's a piece of artwork.

The Republican from Ash Grove or The Republican from Ass Grove?

Discuss.

God belongs in personal life, not in government.

Most people who post here are idiotic lemmings wallowing in shallow pools of self loathing and hatred. Projecting their dislike for themselves upon others. Intellectual midgets trying to reach the top shelf of rational, free willed thinking and coming up a foot short. A pack of hateful, obtuse hyenas biting at air.

How many acting as if not wanting the statue displayed is crazy would be ok with a statue of Christ? Or for that matter, a temporary nativity scene on the capitals lawn?
