Fugitive Joplin Honkey, Carthage man arrested following standoff with Jasper County SWAT

A fugitive Joplin Honkey and a Carthage man, both with lengthy criminal records, were arrested on multiple charges following the execution of a search warrant by the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team and Jasper County SWAT today at 1926 County Road 155, Carthage.

Four suspects who were inside the residence were detained following a one-hour standoff. Two were released at the scene.

Randy Forsythe, 50, Joplin, described in the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team news release as a member of the Joplin Honkeys gang was has "been on the run for some time now," and Cory Wright, 30, Carthage were arrested on multiple felony warrants and suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a loaded shotgun were confiscated.







According to the news release, Forsythe's pending warrants included resisting arrest, possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, assault, peace disturbance and felony fugitive hold from Oklahoma.

Wright had 10 outstanding warrants, including felony drug arrests earlier this year by the Carthage and Webb City police departments.
