Ace Mohr sentencing scheduled Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court

The sentencing hear for Ace Mohr, 27, Carthage, on robbery and assault charges is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court before Judge Dean Dankelson.

Mohr was originally scheduled to be sentenced several times earlier and on the most recent occasion, August 24, failed to show leading Dankelson to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Three days later, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office issued a news release saying Mohr had been captured hiding in the closet at his mother's home in Carthage.

Mohr pleaded guilty January 24 to a reduced charge of robbery in the second degree. He was originally charged with first degree robbery after beating a Carthage man with brass knuckles and stealing his wallet, phone and watch on October 27, 2018, according to the probable cause statement.

The domestic assault charge was in connection with an August 18, 2018 incident.

According to the probable cause, Mohr allegedly pushed a woman's face into a wall, "causing her upper lip to break and bleeding to occur. Ace then locked (the victim) in the bathroom taunting (her) to kill him. He then shoved (her) face into broken glass on the floor causing a laceration on the forehead and serious bleeding to occur."

Can they charge his mother for aiding and abetting a fugitive? They could share a cell.
