Missouri hits 100,000 COVID-19 cases, sets new high for number hospitalized


The state of Missouri reached and passed the 100,000 mark for COVID-19 cases today with 1,974 cases, the third highest one-day total that has been recorded.

The state has had 101,134 cases.

Three deaths were recorded, increasing the total to 1,704

Statistics posted this afternoon by the Department of Health and Senior Services also showed 1,040 hospitalized due to the coronavirus, the highest number to this point, with 114 people added to the total today.

The positivity rate on COVID-19 tests dropped slightly from 12.4 to 12 percent.
