Jason Smith: I won't give up on President Trump; the fight isn't over

(From Eighth District Congressman Jason Smith)

NOTE- Your taxpayer money was used for this nonsense.

This week, I filed a brief before the United States Supreme Court challenging the election procedures in the states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

This lawsuit, which was filed by the State of Texas, outlined how the governors and state election officials in the four states mentioned above decided to abuse their power and go against the words of the U.S. Constitution to implement widespread mail-in-voting schemes and water down fraud safeguards such as signature verification processes.

This is a blatant violation of election procedures as laid out in the U.S. Constitution. It is for state legislatures to decide how to conduct their elections, not rogue governors and state election officials.

I also believe the widespread voter fraud that occurred during this election was enabled by the very processes this case highlighted. Americans have lost trust in our institutions because liberal politicians used a pandemic to strong-arm their citizens into accepting election procedures that were ripe for abuse, and the citizens of this country are now right to question the outcome.

Voter identification, signature verification, and poll observing rights are all integral to trust in our elections.

In the absence of those things we find ourselves questioning what they had to hide. This is all without mentioning the fact that Joe Biden is reported by the mainstream media to have won the most votes in the history of the United States, while at the same time winning fewer individual counties than President Obama in 2012. The logic and math behind that fact do not add up.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been concerned leftist politicians would use the coronavirus to erode safeguards meant to protect the integrity of our elections.

That is why in August I introduced the Integrity of Our Elections Act to require states to implement more robust safeguards to combat voter fraud. Speaker Pelosi refused to listen because she had her own biased agenda, which was to defeat President Trump by any means necessary.

As I feared, the day after the election we began to hear reports of voter fraud, including voter intimidation, voter impersonation, and the illegal discarding of ballots. I immediately wrote to United States Attorney General William Barr demanding investigations into every allegation.

Following specific reports of suitcases of ballots in Georgia, I once again called upon Attorney General Barr to investigate and demanded answers. The Department of Justice has thus far failed to adequately address my concerns.

To add insult to injury, it has come to light that the Department of Justice covered up the ongoing investigations into Hunter Biden’s tax “irregularities.” I find myself wondering if President Trump’s children would have been given the same treatment.

At the end of the day, the logic of the left is simple: voter suppression is rampant, but voter fraud cannot occur. They would like you to believe President Trump won more votes than he did in 2016, yet still lost the presidency.

I believe we must investigate every single instance of voter fraud that occurred during this election. And then we should investigate them again. I will not give up on President Trump and will ensure no stone is left unturned. Rest assured, the fight isn’t over.

https://documented.net/2020/10/newly-surfaced-recording-reveals-alec-and-gop-election-attorneys-working-with-state-legislators-to-question-validity-of-election/

"American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) CEO Lisa Nelson told a room full of conservative activists that ALEC had been working with three GOP attorneys on “action items that legislators can take to question the validity of an election.” The comments were made during a strategy session about elections at the Council for National Policy in February 2020.

Nelson, who runs the legally non-partisan charity (ALEC) and is a member of CNP, told the group, “obviously we all want President Trump to win and win the national vote. But it’s very clear from all the comments and all the suggestions up front that really what it comes down to is the states and the state legislators.” She added that they’ve been working with former Federal Election Commission (FEC) Member and Heritage Foundation attorney Hans Von Spakovsky, former FEC member Brad Smith, and GOP attorney Cleta Mitchell “trying to identify what are those action items that legislators can take in their states.”

“They can write a letter to the secretary of state questioning the validity of an election and saying what did happen that night,” Nelson said. “So we are drafting a lot of those things. If you have ideas in that area, let us know and we’ll get those to the state legislators and they can start to kind of exercise their political muscle in that area.”"

And they breed with impunity and without knowledge of their citizens of what their intent is to ruin a democracy that has survived, but is in peril. We are on the verge of being taken over by a bunch of ill informed and ill intent zealots who wish to own all and give nothing back to the hard working people that refuse to read and understand basic human rights. Sad time for the country and the world.

Put up or shut up, Jason. Lay out your case on the Internet. Every detail you have.

If nothing else, this election should (but won't, I mean, come on...) force changes to require a more transparent, accountable, and uniform system of voting. On one hand, fifty different ways of doing it allows for less chance of screwing with things (can you pick one lock or fifty?") but on the other hand it would be preferable to set guidelines that make nefarious actions obvious, as well as more quicker results.

I don't believe there was some crazy last minute action to boot Trump, but I -DO- believe that the fact that the legitimacy of the results in many of the last few elections is even being questioned (for either party) tells us that system needs fixed. There shouldn't even be a question as to if the results are legitimate.

"Our feelings, our desires, and our disappointments are subordinate to the health of our democracy and the will of the majority," Michigan Senate GOP leader Mike Shirkey said in a statement.

Uh, Jason, the election is over. Biden won in the electoral college and also the popular vote by over 7 million. Your ignorant fealty to Trump and your willful disregard of the Constitution show your disdain for democracy. Sedition is not a good look fool.

All right Jason. I will buy in and suggest that we start by overturning the Election in Missouri. I have a lot of problems believing that there was not fraud involved in your own reelection.
