(From Joplin Schools)We are thrilled to announce that Nicole Peters is our 2024 Teacher of the Year in Joplin Schools!
Mrs. Peters has been a math teacher at South Middle School for 18 years, and she was nominated by her building as a result of her expert classroom engagement, student support, parent relationships, building and district leadership, and community involvement. She also serves as a middle school cross country coach in the fall, and a high school track coach in the spring.
She will be recognized alongside our 2024 Support Staff of the Year winner Dora Eastin at an upcoming Board meeting, where both will receive a monetary gift from the Joplin Schools Foundation in recognition of their service. Mrs. Peters will also be nominated by our district for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Regional Teacher of the Year contest.
Mrs. Peters, you are a fantastic educator and we're so proud of your work with students, colleagues, and athletes all over the district! Thank you for choosing to share your passion and dedication with Joplin Schools.
