Webb City man charged with domestic assault after allegedly shoving wife, biting her ear

A 1:30 p.m. April 17 arraignment is scheduled for a Webb City man who was charged with domestic assault after allegedly putting his wife in a headlock until she passed out and biting her left ear.

A $10,000 cash bond was set for Anthony Curtis Owings (DOB 1995).

According to the probable cause statement, the wife told the investigating Jasper County Sheriff's Office deputy that she and her husband were arguing and it became physical.

From the probable cause statement:

Victim 1 stated there had been a verbal argument in the living room, and Anthony had pushed her towards the entertainment area. {She} advised this continued into the kitchen where she says Anthony put his arm around her neck from behind her and placed her in a headlock. She says she passed out and awoke on the kitchen floor.

After waking up, Victim 1 says Anthony returned to the kitchen and put his two hands around her neck and squeezed. {She} also said Anthony had bit her left ear. {She} says she did not pass out but was then thrown against a counter in the kitchen. She then called 911, and Anthony left the residence to an address in Oronogo where he was located. Anthony was taken into custody at 21:26 hours and was transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.

Victim 1 showed me surveillance footage from her living room. The suspect, Anthony, is seen shoving {her} into the entertainment center as she described.
