It looks like John Bartosh's endorsements don't mean much on this side of the county.
Ed Scorse used Bartosh's endorsements in an ad that aired in the days before the election, but it all it got him was a distant third place in the race for Jasper County Western District commissioner.
Former Joplin R-8 Board of Education member Mike Landis, in his second try at a Commission seat, won a four-way race receiving 1,782 votes to 1,456 for former Joplin mayor Mike Woolston, 1,266 votes for Scorse and 246 votes for James Pierce.
Sheriff Randee Kaiser was elected to his fourth term, cruising to a 9,705 to 3,011 vote over challenger Ethan Snow.
Incumbent Tom Flanagan was re-elected Eastern District Commissioner in a four-way race with 2,706 votes to 1,834 for Drew Evans, 1,600 for Alan Snow and 1,330 for Mark Lashley.
Shannon Karraker defeated Vanessa Bruton for county treasurer 6,752 to 5,117.
All of the above candidates are Republicans. No Democrats filed for county offices.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to vote. I am so disappointed. First election I've missed voting, in over 40 years.

The applicants for Commissioner was disappointing to say the least. Two guys that have been proven to be useless incompetent crooks, one of them winning probably due to the average voter going "derr, i saw this name a lot around town and sound familiar, guess i'll mark this one." And two old wet paper bags.
At least Kaiser will keep his position, thank goodness.
