Novak: Senators not interested in curbing earmarks

In his latest syndicated column, Bob Novak says Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist convened a meeting of 10 Republican senators to deal with the possible loss of the GOP majority in the Senate.
One problem suggested was the costly use of earmarks which has come under criticism this year. Novak says the subject was dropped because the senators were not interested.
One of the seats the GOP appears concerned about losing is the one currently held by Jim Talent of Missouri.
