The Joplin Globe advertises a story in Tuesday's edition in which it will look at a complaint that has been registered against St. John's Regional Medical Center. Of course, Joplin Daily readers were able to find out about that complaint on Saturday.
Admittedly, this is only one story, but if the Daily can continue to put pressure on its venerable competitor by breaking investigative stories, as well as putting out earlier coverage of meetings, accidents, etc., it may live up to its early promise and begin to give the Globe the kind of competition it has needed for a long time.

Way to go, John Hacker!
Hacker 1, Simpson and Co. 0.
Better than the World Cup!
If only they had done something like this out of the gate instead of festering for months before doing some real work.
Sounds like you've been nibbling sour grapes, Glob Rat.
In roughly six months of existence the Daily has put together one solid investigative piece. Meanwhile, The Globe has done nothing huh? Hacker did a great job, there's no doubt about that. He finally did something substantial. It took him long enough.
Hacker has always been a slow starter. He just now has discovered the opposite sex.
Globe Rat aka Debbie Woodin is just sour that her Herald hits the trash with all the other junk mail. At least Hacker's paper rots in the sunshine on the driveway instead of with the coffee grinds and apple cores.
