Newsmakers- Billy Long discusses farm bill, I-49, having the Democrats in charge

Billy Long provided a preview of the 2019 legislative session in an interview with Judy Stiles on the Newsmakers program on KGCS.

During part of the discussion, Long talked about the change that will take place when the Democrats assume the majority.

"I've never served in the minority," Long said. "It's going to be a new experience for me."

Long said he would do his best to work with the Democrats and that he would not be doing what they did during the past eight years which he described as "putting on a show."

Long said he expected Nancy Pelosi to be elected Speaker of the House, noting that the last time she was speaker, "she got health care through and a lot of other things and if you are a Democrat, you like that."

Long also provides updates on the recently passed Farm Bill and the approved funding for the completion of I-49 between Missouri and Arkansas.
