A July 1 arraignment has been scheduled in Jasper County Circuit Court for a Neosho man with two previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, who was pulled over at 7th and Maiden Lane Saturday and cited with yet another DWI.
According to the probable cause statement, Christopher Cooper, 31, was driving with no headlights when he was stopped by Joplin Police Department Sgt. Chris Thresher.
Thresher spotted an open beer bottle on the dash and Cooper smelled of alcohol.
"I asked him how much he had to drink," Thresher writes in the probable cause statement.
"I'm drunk," Cooper responded.
Cooper refused to perform field tests or to take a breathalyzer test.
A check showed Cooper's license had been revoked and he had the two prior DWI convictions, as well as a conviction for driving while revoked.
Cooper is free after posting a $20,000 bond.

Why does someone with that record, who keeps driving (and drunk) even when he's not supposed to, get to be bailed out? They keep doing it with that Edward Meerwald, even after he killed people.
Either no bail or REALLY high bail for these repeaters.
I can hear him burping real load right before he said Im drunk
What?
