Ben Baker files bills to require school districts to post "In God We Trust," permit teaching of Bible unit in public schools

A sampling of the bills prefiled by Rep. Ben Baker, R-Neosho for the 2020 legislative session.

From the Missouri House of Representatives web site:

HB 1345 -- ELECTIVE SOCIAL STUDIES COURSES SPONSOR: Baker This bill allows a school district to offer an elective social studies unit on the Hebrew Scriptures, the Old Testament of the Bible, or the New Testament of the Bible. The course will include the contents, history, literary style and structure, and influences on society. No requirement shall be made by the district on the text translation students must use. This bill requires that any course offered shall follow applicable laws maintaining religious neutrality, and shall not endorse, favor, promote, or show hostility to any particular religion, nonreligious faith or religious perspective. This bill is similar to HB 267 (2019).

(Baker introduced the same bill for the 2019 legislative session.)

HB 1346 -- NATIONAL MOTTO DISPLAY IN SCHOOLS SPONSOR: Baker This bill requires that schools, beginning in the 2021-22 school year and continuing thereafter, display the national motto of the United States, "In God We Trust" in a prominent location, as defined in the bill.

In the bill, a prominent location is defined as "a school entryway, cafeteria or common area where students are likely to see the national motto display."

I am sure he decided to file these bills after consulting with hundreds of his constituents.

Or maybe just the one in the mirror.

Jeebus!

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?"

Why worry about the false prophets?

Some of those that appear on CBN and TBN and have one or more private jets?

NEVER MIND What thy Rebibluican from Ash Grove has to say!

The reason why Ceres is appropriate for the Capitol dome is because NOBODY has worshipped Ceres for over 2000 years. It's a piece of artwork.

Most people who post here are idiotic lemmings wallowing in shallow pools of self loathing and hatred. Projecting their dislike for themselves upon others. Intellectual midgets trying to reach the top shelf of rational, free willed thinking and coming up a foot short. A pack of hateful, obtuse hyenas biting at air.

How many acting as if not wanting the statue displayed is crazy would be ok with a statue of Christ? Or for that matter, a temporary nativity scene on the capitals lawn?

Schools already have classes like Bible as Literature. Church and state are to be separate for a reason. Take your kids to Sunday school, but you can't force feed your religion to other people's kids.

This kind of bovine excrement legislation is uncommonly popular with the churchgoing deplorables of SWMO. They know what kinds of edumacation comply with their versions of the buybull. If they could read better they'd have an appreciation why this ain't necessarily so, but they are left behind at the if they could read better.
