The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed charges today against a Carthage man who allegedly kidnapped, beat and threatened to kill a woman Wednesday.
Ronald Allen Sealey (DOB 1965) is being held in the Jasper County Jail without bond.
Sealey's arrest came after Carthage Police responded to a call about a woman hanging out of a vehicle, trying to get away and screaming.
From the probable cause statement:
Two subjects were located, one male who had been identified as Ronald Sealey standing over the victim. The victim was laying in the fetal position and had duct tape wrapped around her wrists and ankles.Sealey initially told arriving officers on scene that he had located the victim at witness 2’s residence. Sealey said that he assaulted the victim because they had broken into his garage and stolen items. Sealey was detained in double locked handcuffs and secured in the back of a patrol vehicle. Sealey was then advised of his Rights per Miranda and he advised that he understood.
The victim was seen by Emergency medical services on scene due to injuries. The victim disclosed that Sealey unlawfully entered the residence where they were at and assaulted them.
Sealey began using duct tape to restrict the victim’s movements while he continued to assault {her]. Sealey had been making statements about killing the victim and continued to assault [her] with his hands.
The victim stated that [she} couldn’t breathe during the assault due to Sealey holding his hand around [her] neck and restricting the airflow.
I later arrived on scene and contacted Lt. Pinnell who had been part of the initial arrival. Lt. Pinnell and I also identified Ronald Sealey as the male in the back of Ptl. Bowman’s vehicle. MPO Richards stood by Lt. Pinnell and I as we spoke with Sealey about the incident. Sealey made statements that corroborated the victim’s disclosure.
Lt. Pinnell then responded back to the residence of witness 2 and spoke with witness 1 about the incident. Witness 1 was scared for [her]life as well and described being escorted by witness 2 who stated “Ron’s on his way."
Witness 1 then heard Sealey’s voice making statements about killing the victim and duct tape being used during what sounded like an assault. Witness 2 also said that they heard Sealey saying he was going to kill the victim and the sound of duct tape being used during the assault.
Jodee Ann Halverson (DOB 1988), Carthage, was charged with being an accessory to the kidnapping and an accessory to the assault.
From the probable cause statement:
During a subsequent interview with HALVERSON, she admitted to sharing the location of the victim and not intervening and knowing the victim's life was in danger.
Halverson is being held without bond in the Jasper County Jail.

Hang him and his partners and the women whose house they were in as she did nothing to help the victim . Obviously a threat to her and the community if he is willing to kill someone and beat them severely. He needs the chair and so do the others…….
I know for a fact that halverson was scared herself and left to go get help to stop Ron from what he was doing. I’ll testify in court on it.

This is a message received from one of the alleged victim that said she was forced into her room but that’s false.
“”She called him to come there idk if she helped tie her up or just watched I didn't come out of my room”” And one more message that’s important
I asked Betty if jodee left before Ron and this is what she said
I'm not sure it sounded like they all left at the same time then a few minutes later I was still in my room Jodee calls and said is Ron still there I said It sounds like everyone is gone and she asked how long ago he left as I was walking in the living room and the door was open the police were standing at my door and started telling me to put my hands in the air where they could see them
So that’s when jodee came to get me to help stop ron in those few minutes. She was clearly gone before him and not helping him but trying to stop him without the police getting involved Randy Turner. I believe Ashley learned a valuable lesson about stealing.that should of happened a long time ago. Justice and Law are very different. Not all laws should apply to everyone the same because we are all different and do things differently. But that’s my opinion
Jodee is still being held with no bond. For telling someone that got robbed where the person that robbed them was.
I know for a fact Halverson sat a residence for 21mins then met back up with Ron. She never once called 911 bc they have the phone numbers that called to help. So if she went to go get help then why didn't she do it in the 21mins she was at the house she was at??????
I think anyone that wasn't there and wasn't beat with a roll of duct tape and taped up and honestly was being taken to be killed should shut there mouths!!!!!!! Also if jodee left to get help.......why did she call Ron in the 1st place to show up if she didn't know what was gonna happen.........so she started the whole situation and planned it out pretty much!!!!!!! The only person that knows his true intentions are him and god nobody else. If they were to only to kill you, he would of killed you on sight. I believe he wanted what was taken and that’s where if I was you would consider getting that took care of. But that’s my opinion. Ron was looking for you and several people knew it and you should of expected he would be coming to find you. You can’t blame jodee for telling her friend that you robbed where you were. Let’s say you robbed my mother and I see you at McDonald’s. Should I get blamed for what she does because I tell her where you are or one of the 5 other people that tell her where you are?
Ashley you answered your own question. If jodee knew what Ron was going to do she wouldn’t have left to get help. But she did. Her intention was for Ron to confront you face to face so he could find out where his belongings were. It’s bullshit she’s still in jail and may have to serve a long time for some shit that she didn’t do to you. Like I said when he started that shit it scared her too. She told Betty to call the cops and she left, came straight to me a min up the street. Then she called bettty and the cops were at Betty’s. It was Betty’s house Ron came into illegally and Betty was told to call and Betty responsibility to call the police.
A guy walks into Walmart with a weapon. There’s 30. He starts beating everyone he sees with it. How many people take off running out the door? How many people get beat with the weapon? How many people call the cops? I’d say 20 ran for the door 5 hid and 5 get beat. Now out of them 25 people does all of them have to call the cops? And if one of them was helping the guy would that person came back to the scene to get arrested? It’s bullshit she’s still in jail
