Thanks to scandals involving Jack Abramoff and others, lobbyists and special interests are coming under attack in this year's political campaigns.
This is not the first time this has happened. Unfortunately, usually after a new broom sweeps clean, the next batch of politicians end up in bed with lobbyists. It is time to ban all gifts from lobbyists. They will still have access, which is all the Constitution guarantees, but this would once and for all get rid of the lame excuse that "you can't buy my vote for a sandwich."
