Asiah Epperson of Joplin continues her shot at fame tonight as American Idol cuts its list to the top 24.
Joplin viewers on Fox 14 and viewers across the nation found out Tuesday night that Miss Epperson, who qualified for the Hollywood auditions after a heartbreaking tryout in Atlanta only days after the death of her father in a traffic accident, had survived the cut to 50.
This marks the first time the Joplin area has had a candidate who has made it this far. American Idol will begin at 7 p.m. today Joplin time.
