Post-Dispatch: Joplin educators give Simpson glowing recommendation

Lindbergh School Board members considering hiring Joplin R-8 Superintendent Jim Simpson received nothing but positive feedback when they came to Joplin Monday, according to an article posted today on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website. Simpson's resignation was accepted by the R-8 Board of Education Tuesday night:

Lindbergh School Board members on Monday visited Joplin educators, who gave Simpson glowing reports. "He wants a very well-rounded school district," said Ken Fay, vice president of the Lindbergh School Board. "They think the world of him."

Simpson was hired after a yearlong search and from a pool of 57 candidates. He will earn $195,000 for the first year of a three-year contract.
