I have been berating Allen Icet, R-Wildwood, both on this blog and on my Facebook page recently for his seemingly never ending series of robocalls, but tonight at the Newton County Republican Watermelon Feed at Big Spring Park in Neosho, it was Icet who showed up in person and Schweich who just phoned it in.
It was the second straight year Icet has appeared at the event. Last year, both Icet and Schweich were there, as was one of Schweich's chief backers, former Sen. Jack Danforth.
Icet opened the event tonight, noting that all of the Republican state representatives, including those who were at the feed, were backing his candidacy and stressing his experience.
