Southwest Missouri Conservative Network upset with Bachmann decision to endorse Roy Blunt

The Joplin-area tea party has signed on to a protest of Michelle Bachmann's appearance in St. Louis this week to endorse Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt for U. S. Senate.

Various Missouri tea party groups, including the Southwest Missouri Conservative Network, Joplin, are making it clear that not only are they not endorsing Roy Blunt, but they are not endorsing anyone in the Republican primary. The following came from a statement issued on behalf of the tea party groups:

When we received a notification that Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, a strong supporter of Tea Parties nationally, and the originator of a “Tea Party Caucus” in Washington last week, will be coming to Missouri on July 31st to make phone calls with Roy Blunt from the St. Louis GOP headquarters, and to be a featured speaker at a Blunt fundraiser that night, we were shocked. We believe she has been grossly misled if she understands him to be a Missouri Tea Party candidate.

The time has come for John Putnam to quit dragging down the Republican Party in Jasper County.

John, if you are so dedicated to drink with the Tea-Party at the expense of and with the intent to hurt the Republican Party, maybe it is time for you to resign and do what every gives you a thrill.

The Republican Party needs a strong, dedicated leader like they have in Newton County whose interest is the Republican Party, not some devisive, third-party wannabes.
