THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.
CONFIDENCE CONTINUES TO INCREASE THAT PORTIONS OF THE
MISSOURI OZARKS WILL RECEIVE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL FROM
THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. AT THIS TIME...IT APPEARS
THAT THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR FROM WEST CENTRAL
MISSOURI...SOUTHEAST TOWARDS SPRINGFIELD AND INTO THE WEST
PLAINS AREA WHERE 4 TO 7 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE. LOCALIZED
HIGHER AMOUNTS CANNOT BE RULED OUT. A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN
EFFECT FOR THIS REGION FOR THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT. LIGHTER
SNOW AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS FAR SOUTHWESTERN MISSOURI AND
UP ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI.
A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE THURSDAY NIGHT
ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN MISSOURI.
ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM MAY BRING ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SNOWFALL TO
PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA LATE THIS WEEKEND. CONFIDENCE IN
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS FROM THIS SYSTEM REMAINS LOW AT THIS TIME.
THE COMBINATION OF RAINFALL AND MELTING SNOW WILL LIKELY LEAD
TO RISING CREEKS AND RIVERS FROM LATE THIS WEEK INTO THIS
WEEKEND. THIS MAY RESULT IN FLOODING OF SOME LOW WATER
CROSSINGS.
