...BITTERLY COLD TEMPERATURES AND WIND CHILLS ON THE WAY...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

  LIMITED EXCESSIVE COLD RISK.
  LIMITED SNOW RISK.

DISCUSSION...

WIND CHILLS IN THE UPPER SINGLE DIGITS AND LOWER TEENS CAN
BE EXPECTED THIS MORNING AS WINDS INCREASE OUT OF THE
NORTHWEST. A BITTERLY COLD AIR MASS WILL THEN BEGIN TO POUR
INTO THE REGION LATE TONIGHT WITH WIND CHILLS DROPPING INTO
THE SINGLE DIGITS BELOW ZERO RANGE OVER MOST AREAS BY
  SUNRISE WEDNESDAY MORNING.

AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY THE
ARRIVAL OF AN ARCTIC AIRMASS FROM LATER THIS EVENING INTO
THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. AREAS FROM WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI INTO
THE EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS MAY SEE A DUSTING OF SNOWFALL...
WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS APPROACHING A HALF INCH ACROSS
CENTRAL MISSOURI. GIVEN THAT THE SNOW WILL BE VERY DRY AND
FLUFFY IN NATURE...INCREASING NORTHERLY WINDS WILL RESULT
IN AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND LOCAL REDUCTIONS TO VISIBILITY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE TO FILTER INTO THE REGION ON
WEDNESDAY WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
TEMPERATURES BY LATE AFTERNOON WILL BE IN THE LOWER TO MIDDLE
SINGLE DIGITS WITH WIND CHILLS REMAINING BELOW ZERO ALL DAY
  DUE TO BRISK NORTHERLY WINDS.

LOW TEMPERATURES WEDNESDAY NIGHT WILL THEN BE NEAR ZERO
DEGREES. WHILE WINDS WILL DECREASE WEDNESDAY NIGHT...THEY
WILL QUICKLY INCREASE OUT OF THE SOUTH THURSDAY MORNING
AND WILL REMAIN GUSTY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. WIND CHILLS
THURSDAY MORNING WILL FALL INTO THE -10 TO -15 DEGREE RANGE.

WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS WILL THEN OCCUR DURING
THE OVERNIGHT AND EARLY MORNING HOURS THROUGH SATURDAY
  MORNING.
