Lotus Garden, 1818 W. 7th Street, failed a Joplin Health Department inspection Wednesday, according to information posted on the department website.
Inspectors recorded two priority violations and nine core violations.
Priority violations were noted for the following:
-Potentially hazardous foods in the walk-in cooler were being cold held above 41 degrees.
-Food containers stored on the dish storage rack were cracked and damaged.
The following core violations were recorded:
-Scoops in the bulk flour bin were stored with their handles in the contents of the bins
-Containers of chicken were stored on the floor in the walk-in cooler.
-A container of rice was stored uncovered in the dry storage room.
-A thermometer wasn't easily accessible and capable of taking food temperatures.
-Wire racks in the walk-in cooler were damaged and rusting.
-Heavy debris accumulations were present on the range oven.
-Damaged floor tiles were observed in the dry storage area and damaged ceiling tiles in the hallway.
-The women's restroom door does not self-close to a tight-fitting position.
-Debris residue accumulation was present throughout the kitchen, especially below and behind cooking equipment.
