A Neosho man is being held in the McDonald County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash-only bond on a domestic assault charge after allegedly shooting his brother Monday.
Christopher Todd Drum, 27, shot his brother because he believed he was a snitch, according to the probable cause statement.
From the probable cause statement:

Newton County Sheriff's deputies, as well as Missouri state troopers located the vehicle near State Highway 60 in Newton County. I must have missed something a $5,000 cash only Bond for shooting someone - possible two-gun shots which either one could have killed his brother and only a $5,000 Bond - That is ridiculous for trying to Kill Someone - - would that have been $10,000 Bond, had he killed him - They are charging him with Domestic Assault - Not Attempted Murder - - BUNCH OF IDIOTS! STOP BEING SOFT ON CRIMINALS...
ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ ....OH WAIT
It’s also the jury who’s soft… McDonald county residents want the court to be harder but when they go to trial the jury will find someone guilty of a felony and decide the consequences are to fine the person..
Embarrassing
Read the Missouri laws. There is no “attempted murder.” It’s domestic assault 1st degree which is basically attempted murder. Any first degree assault is basically that. But there is no “attempted murder” on the books. I’m sure he’s also being charged with 2 others crimes: armed criminal action and unlawful use of a firearm.
People can still complain even if there is no such crime!
10:30AM, 12:31PM - First-Degree Assault: The BOND IS A JOKE!!!
A Class A felony involving attempting to cause or causing serious physical injury with a deadly weapon. Firing a gun at a victim and wounding them can be sufficient evidence for a Class B felony, which is raised to a Class A if serious physical injury is inflicted.
In Missouri, the bail amount for an assault charge involving a gun is discretionary and can vary widely, but is typically set high, ranging from $20,000 to $75,000 or more depending on the specific charge and the judge's discretion.
Snitches get stitches
If there was ever a more clear sign of guilt!
Who worries about snitches?
