Nexstar Broadcasting to continue to review Jimmy Kimmel Live decision

(From Nexstar Broadcasting)

KODE will continue to offer an expanded edition of its 10 p.m, news, followed by the syndicated Entertainment Tonight as Nexstar Broadcasting, which manages the station, continues pre-empting Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Nexstar issued the following statement today:

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the company’s owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will continue to preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

We made a decision last week to preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel’s “ill-timed and insensitive” comments at a critical time in our national discourse.

We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve.

In the meantime, we note that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets.

Nexstar is a spineless company

There sure is a lot of new coverage (speaking in general nationally, nothing against Randy for sharing) for someone on a dying platform with abysmal viewership that is just another mockingbird media puppet.
Tell me again why am I supposed to feel in anyway sorry for a millionaire "comedian" for reading a script that was obviously written to promote anger and division right after a major political assassination?

As a business Nexstar Broadcasting has the right to play or preempt the Jimmy Kimmel show. Just as CBS, has the right to cancel Stephen Colbert.

What business could afford to lose $40 to $50 Million Dollars a year as CBS was doing trying to prop up Stephen Colbert? CBS, should have cancelled him earlier - their money, their decision. Not any of you in the peanut gallery -
if you have $40 to $50 Million Dollars you want to pay to keep this wacko on television - please step up! If not sit down and be quiet!

They are in business to make money not lose it. This is why you are in business to make a profit, not throw your money out the window. It seems people have a problem with that, it is their money (not yours), their decisions (not yours). The same thing with Jimmy Kimmel, it is their money (not yours), their decisions (not yours).

Kimmel's ratings have declined for years and the cost to support this show is outrageous and he has alienated over half the country - that is a lot of consumers that want nothing to do with him.

Businesses cannot afford to support agendas, intimidations, and rhetoric - they are in business to make money not lose it, Anheuser Busch, Target, Starbucks, Nike, and Cracker Barrel, learned valuable lessons - be careful what you do because if your customers do not support it they will take their business elsewhere, as several of those businesses have lost $Billions.

So, if you want to push your agenda, you hate speech, whatever - start your business, your own network or broadcasting company, but if can't then go sit in the corner and keep your mouths shut - because we live in a country that is based on capitalism - making money - if your business isn't making money then you are going to have to fire all your employees and close the business down - economics of capitalism - you either make money or go out of business -

The president has said worse things than what Kimmel said. Brian Kilmeade from fox news said mentally ill homeless people should be killed. Where's the outrage about that? What about when felon 47 laughed at Nancy Pelosi's husband getting beat with a hammer. Where's the outrage for that?

Agreed 538, the only way to explain it is to understand the poverty of intellectual and social ignorance. It doesn't make it right but it sure nails it on the head.
