A property tax town hall has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. September 23 at the Memorial Education Center.
A news release from Sen. Jill Carter, R-Granby, notes that five counties recently filed suit against the Missouri State Tax Commission claiming the Commission was overreaching with its property tax hikes.
Carter, Newton County Assessor Cheryle Perkins and Tony Rossetti of the Southwest Center for Educational Excellence and former Webb City R-7 superintendent, will discuss needed reforms in the property tax system while continuing to ensure funding for firefighters, libraries and schools.
