Thank you to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office for assisting and the arrest of Justin Crouch.
In April of 2025 Newton County Deputies along with the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office began an investigation into a house fire at a residence on Spruce St in Wentworth Mo. Deputies conducted interviews and the Fire Marshal’s Office collected evidence at the scene.
It was discovered that there were two people who were squatting in the residence and that the property owner was in the process of evicting the couple. A witness had seen a male leave the residence moments prior to the residence catching on fire.
The investigation has been concluded after the results of the evidence were returned from the Missouri State Crime Lab and other evidence was collected. The Newton County Sheriff’s Office formally requested a charge of 2nd Degree Arson for Justin Thomas Crouch through the Newton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and a warrant has been issued.
