An out-of-state payday loan firm was among the maximum contributors on the last round of campaign contributions for Rep. Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin.
Missouri Ethics Commission documents show Ms. Ruestman received $975 Friday, including the maximum $325 from Advance America, a payday loan operation out of Spartanburg, S. C., and Freeman Physicians Group, Joplin. She received an additional $300 from Missouri Dental Hygienist, Kansas City, and $25 from Jon and Iola French, Joplin.
