Sen. Jim Talent is behind by one percent after leading most of the night, according to an announcement that just came over CNN.
The network is reporting that in order for the Democratic Party to take control of the U. S. Senate, it has to win Missouri, Montana, and Virginia.
Though the pundits are saying Virginia is too close to call and Sen. George Allen told his supporters he was going to go to bed, his opponent former Secretary of the Navy Jim Webb, a former Republican running as a Democrat, has claimed victory.
In Montana, the last I heard incumbent Conrad Burns, a Republican is losing 53 percent to 45 percent.
It is looking quite possible that both houses will move from the GOP to the Democratic Party before this election is over.
