Dee Wampler, probably the most prominent attorney in southwest Missouri (whose picture is not plastered on the backs of our phone books, at least), and the national organization, the Alliance Defense Fund, are representing a former Missouri State University who is suing the university saying she was deprived of her First Amendment rights to free expression and free exercise of religion.
Emily Brooker claims she received a lower grade and was pressured by university officials to go against her Christian beliefs. Her lawsuit indicates a professor attempted to require her and other students to sign a letter to the Missouri Legislature supporting homosexuals to be foster and adoptive parents.
The Alliance Defense Fund, designed to protect Christians' rights, was formed in 1994 by a number of prominent Christians, including James Dobson of Focus on the Family and D. James Kennedy.
