Talent, Montee lead in first results posted

The first results posted on the Missouri secretary of state's website tonight show incumbent Republican Jim Talent leading State Auditor Claire McCaskill, but only by 14 votes, 983 to 969 for U. S. Senate.
In the state auditor race, Democratic candidate Susan Montee leads Republican Sandra Thomas 1,001 to 836.
State Senate
In the 28th District, incumbent Sen. Delbert Scott, R-Lowry City, leads independent Michael Holzknecht 458 to 221.
Amendments
Very early results show the stem cell initiative, Amendment 2, leading by a vote of 1,049 or 54 percent, to 893 or 46 percent.
The tobacco tax, Amendment 3, is failing 996 or 51.2 percent to 949 or or 48.8 percent.
Proposition B, the minimum wage hike, has overwhelming early support with 1,453 votes, or 75 percent favoring it to 485 votes or 25 percent.
