Daiily officially introduces Ford as managing editor

John Ford's promotion to managing editor of the Neosho Daily News, first noted in the April 19 Turner Report, was officially announced in today's Daily:

"There is no question John Ford has been a vital part of our newsroom staff for more than a decade," (Daily News Publisher Rick) Rogers said. "I have the utmost confidence that John can continue the excellent editorial product that we have been able to produce the past three years. John is one of the finest reporters in this region and that, coupled with his ability to produce a well-designed newspaper, will allow him to excel in his new role.

"John has also been a part of the Neosho community for the past 12 years, and understands what you, our readers, want in their hometown newspaper - hometown news."

In other news...Ford continues to receive crappy pay and honcho's over the paper use the extra money to drink beer and have barbecues. Ford is a class act, the paper is a joke. I'm a John Ford fan, but feel sorry he is stuck with such low-level (and very immature) management.

That immature management made the Carthage Press a good paper. That immature management made the Neosho Daily News an award-winning, well-designed product.
Whatever maturity the previous poster feels the Graber/Davison team possessed is muted by the declining circulation numbers in Carthage. During that team's tenure, the Press has been hearing talk of becoming a weekly.
The mature thing to do was fix the problem. Have they? Time will tell. But the definition of stupidity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

Wow! Thank you for proving the previous poster's point about immaturity at the Neosho Daily. At what point was The Press, Graber or Davison even mentioned on this thread? A classic example of the Neosho Daily, as usual, is keeping its eye on the ball.

Randy. Did you ever take any award winning classes in spelling? I think Daily is spelled with just one "i".

Thank you for pointing out the spelling of "Daiily."
