Democrat: Rapid Response team coming to help soon-to-be displaced O'Sullivan workers

A Rapid Response will come to Lamar to help deal with the impending closing of O'Sullivan Industries, the city's largest employer, according to an article in today's Lamar Democrat:

Jasen Jones, executive director of the Work Force Investment Board of Southwest Missouri, told the Democrat on Tuesday plans are being made to hold a local rapid response program in Lamar for employees of O’Sullivan. As in the past, the program will help the employees of O’Sullivan Industries to access unemployment and will help with job searches and resume writing.
Work is also beginning on applying for a National Emergency Grant through the US Department of Labor. Jones says he is hoping to get a half million dollars through this program to retrain workers and to attract a new business to the facilities O’Sullivan will be vacating. Watch the Democrat for updates on the programs and the progress on the grant.

Retrain them to be what??....flip burgers at McDonalds? Just where in small town Missouri do you think that many people can retrain and get a job immediately. They can't, they will for the most part have to move away.
Perhaps they should retrain to be politicians, thats where they money is. If you don't believe it, ask the Governor.
