Cardinals win; Ludwick hits walk-off two-run homer
Ryan Ludwick's 28th home run of the season, a walk-off two-run shot in the bottom of the 11th gave the Cardinals a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. That will enable the Redbirds to keep pace with the Cubs, who also won today.

Gawd! That bullpen is awful. The birds will lament not working a deal for some help.
Randy branching out into some sports play-by-play, very nice. The Cards aren't going to catch the Cubsin the NL Central let's concentrate on the wild-card....not the division.
As those of you who have known me since the newspaper days know, I used to do almost as much sports writing as hard news. That being said, I don't see a sports comeback in my future.
I agree with the comment about the bullpen but I still recall when a rookie named Todd Worrell came from out of nowhere late in the season to stabilize the bullpen in the '80s. Or to show my age, who would have ever expected an aging knuckleballer like Charlie Schultz to come through for the Cardinals back in '64?

And you are probably right about the division, but there is always an element of doubt where the Cubs are concerned.
