A 1 p.m. August 11 arraignment has been scheduled in Jasper County Circuit Court for Jarub Baird, 25, Carthage, who is charged with driving while intoxicated.
Baird is free after posting $1,000 bond today.
The arrest came just a little over a year after Baird was released from prison where he had been serving time for involuntary manslaughter and assault in connection with the December 8, 2006, accident in which Hannah Smallwood, 15, a Carthage High School student, was killed after Baird had been driving at a rate of speed estimated at 110 miles per hour.
The traffic stop was the third for Baird in a little over three months. He was also cited for driving more than 26 miles per hour over the speed limit on July 2 and for failure to use his turn signal on April 13. Those citations and the DWI were issued by the Jasper County Sheriff's Department.
