Jarrett Cook resigns as Jefferson Elementary principal

The resignation of Jefferson Elementary Principal Jarrett Cook, who is leaving to take a principal job in another school district, was accepted by the Joplin R-8 Board of Education during a closed session May 6.

Cook has been principal at Jefferson since 2011. Prior to that, he served as assistant principal at South and East middle schools.

This is a terrible loss for the community. I wonder if Anne Sharp can see what is happening with the loss of yet more really good people from R8? How do you put a positive spin on this? He left because he got a better deal with a better district. I wish him well. I wish those who have made this district an unbearable place to work good riddance, the sooner the better.

Any bets on which TLC or former TLC will be put there?
Mr. Cook is a great guy and a great principal. Glad he got out of the hell that R8 has become.
