Bond set at $100,000 for Webb City woman charged with Mercy Hospital shooting

The Newton County Prosecutor has filed charges against Kaylea Liska for 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Robbery. Bond has been set at $100, 000.00.

Joplin Police officers responded to Mercy Hospital, located at 100 E. Mercy Way, Joplin, MO on December 23, 2015 at 9:23 P.M. for a report of a shooting in the parking lot. 

The victim Steven Harner located a female in his vehicle in the parking lot and confronted her. She shot Harner and fled the scene. The victim was taken inside and treated. His condition is currently listed as stable. 

Early this morning around 06:50 Officers responded to south Joplin in the area E. 43rd Street for a suspect that was breaking into cars. 

While officers were checking the area for the suspect, they determined that the theft suspect matched the description of the shooter. Officers were able to locate the female in a vehicle that she had flagged down for a ride. 

Officers arrested Kaylea Nicole Liska, age 20 from Webb City, MO. Charges are pending with the Newton County Prosecutor for 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Robbery.
