Webb City apartment searched, items confiscated in child porn investigation

Officers with the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force confiscated a smart phone, a digital passport, and an XBox 1 during a December 15 search of an apartment at 1365 Canyon Trails Drive, Webb City.

The search warrant was obtained after images of child pornography were spotted by officials from the social networking service Meet Me and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploiting Children.

Three instances were reported of someone claiming to be 14 years old (twice) and 15 years old posting a photo of a male sex organ and soliciting similar photos from young people.

Though the names provided by the poster were different, all of them were traced to a Cable One IP Address at the Webb City apartment.

The messages were sent in April, May, and October, according to the search warrant affidavit. The man who lived at the apartment had the IP address since March 30 and had been at the apartment since November 2014.

No arrests have been reported at this point.
