Emery Facebook post compares food stamp recipients to animals

On his Facebook page, Sen. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, has compared those on food stamps to animals.

From the Cass County Democrat Missourian account:

Titled as a lesson in irony and attributed to a friend, the post states that 47 million people received food stamp benefits in 2013.

It then states that the National Park Service has a policy against feeding animals.

“Their [sic] stated reason for the policy is because ‘the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.’”

Randy,

We missed you. I didn't known you had heart surgery but surmised you just ran out of steam. At first I didn't care but as the days went by I missed your updates. So you matter. Stay healthy. Keep writing.

I guess "Pro Life" only pertains to the unborn.

Basically the same point as the old adage - "Give a man a fish you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". Welfare was intended to be temporary assistance. It has become a career path for many!
