Today Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) made the following statement in response to President Trump’s announcement that he will allow the year-round sale of 15% ethanol gasoline, or E15.
“This is great news for Missouri corn growers suffering from low commodity prices and the effects of a drought earlier this year,” said Hartzler, who is a member of the House Agriculture Committee.
“Allowing E15 to be sold year-round will give consumers more choices at the pump and farmers will have a broader market to sell their corn, which will result in higher farm income. As recently as two weeks ago, I advocated with the White House for this change to help Missouri corn growers, so I was particularly glad to hear the President’s announcement today.”

I am sorry, but you have to be a total dimwit to advocate for E-15. E-10 causes all sorts of problems for older and some newer cars and since when do farmers need more money for their crops. Plowing more acreage under means more sediment in our streams and lakes, more chemicals in those water bodies and more poison going into our oceans. More acreage plowed means more fuel used, more trucks on road to transport it using more fuel, more fuel to process, more fracking of underground deposits resulting in more tainted water for the rural areas. If republicans had a ounce of brains they would stop and realize that this increases CO2 emissions and increases the action-reaction process of pollution causing health problems. What a misinformed ignorant bunch of people.
@2:51 - What are you a tree hugger? Who cares what happens to land, sea and air? It's not like we need any of that. Not when regulations to keep these area clean are costing our big corporations! That money to clean stuff up eats into their CEOs bonuses and the ability to buy back their own stock to please their shareholders. It's all about the mighty dollar making the rich man richer! So what if oceans are rising, the planet is heating up and weather is getting more extreme by the day? In another 100 years we won't be around to see the effects anyway. It's all about the here and now and how much money can the rich man get. Sorry but your grand children can just fend for themselves and try to figure it out. It's all just nature working anyhow. Don't try bringing that fake science mumbo jumbo into this argument! All fake news created by China according to our genius in the White House. And you KNOW everything he says is true.
