McCaskill: New law means Missourians will know the lowest price they have to pay for prescriptions

(From Sen. Claire McCaskill)

Okay -- this is really exciting. The President signed my bipartisan legislation to prevent pharmacist "gag clauses" into law!

Here's the story: Earlier this year at a healthcare roundtable, I heard from a woman who was shocked to find her mother's prescriptions would actually cost less without her insurance -- and she was even more shocked that her pharmacist couldn't tell her that basic information.

Well, that didn't sound right to me -- so I set out to fix it. And this past week... we did!

What does this mean for Missourians? Well, now when you're at the pharmacy counter, you'll know the lowest price you can pay for your prescriptions.

I'm committed to making healthcare more affordable for Missourians, from eliminating these pharmacist gag clauses to pushing back on "junk" health insurance plans that could raise costs for seniors and bring back discrimination against folks with pre-existing conditions.

I will always do what's right for Missouri - whether it's pushing for more affordable prescription drugs or protecting health insurance for Missourians with pre-existing conditions.

Thanks for being with me in this fight.
