Federal grand jury indicts Quapaw man for running marijuana operation in Newton County, weapons charges

A detention hearing will be held Friday for a Quapaw, Oklahoma man indicted by a federal grand jury for drug trafficking in Newton County.

The indictment, which was unsealed Tuesday in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, says Jayme J. Richardson, 43, sometime around December 27, 2018, grew 100 or more marijuana plants and had 10 guns and a firearm silencer.

Richardson made his initial appearance Tuesday at the federal courthouse in Springfield.
